Connecting with K'nex to create more Simple machines

Our exploration into simple machines continues.  The challenge this time was to create a prototype of a simple machine using K'nex.  The pulley was the popular choice.

A pulley is designed to increase lift strength using a tracked wheel and a cord, rope or chain.

Math connections -- we are learning about geometry and how important polygons and angles are for designs.  Next week we will be exploring triangles.  Here is a video for you to watch together with your child at home:
