Here is the
visual story of some of our learning from last week (Oct 1-5)
| Adding the next Alberta symbol - The Great Horned Owl. Do you know some of the adaptations that owls have? How much do you think the Great Horned Owl weighs? |
| Practicing the strategy rounding to add using dice with partners. We were practicing rounding to the nearest 10 and 100. Ask your child what the rule for rounding is. |
| Our writing about what we are thankful for. What does Thanksgiving mean to you? |
| Our Indigo Circus Presentation -- this was a great connection to the Growth Mindsets. These performers should how important cooperation and teamwork are. We got to see a real life example of how mistakes are important for making progress. |
| Using a natural organism as our focus for art. Leaves are important for nature. They are connected to natural waste. Do you know what leaves turn into? Without organic waste there would be now life. We were using our observation skills to accurately represent these leaves using paper chalk on parchment paper and oil pastels on newspaper. Do you see the connections to the 6R's. Recycle, reuse, rethink ... Hmmm... |
| How accurate is the replica? |
| On Friday, we did a sharing circle to say happy trails to Elle who was part of our class for a short time, but made a huge contribution. We wish you much success Elle. |
