Blue Connections in Room 4A

Oki,
Since last week was all about blue for a brighter future,  I decided to showcase connections to blue in last week's learning.    Notice the blue reading power is questions and inferences.  Your thinking will become brighter if you ask questions and make inferences as you read!
Also, this photograph demonstrates how when you read a book you should be paying attention to how each of the thinking/reading powers is sparked.  This is what students are doing during grand conversations.  They read their novel  for 20 minutes and then they are showing their thinking on a reading power page in their visual sketch journals.  This is the same framework you can use when you are having thinking conversations at home reading together.

Next,  are some photos of monochromatic artwork based on Picasso's blue period.  With monochromatic paintings you use different shades of one color.  In this case blue.  Here are some thinking questions for you:  How are guitars and children's rights connected?  How are monochromatic and child rights connected?

Blue is a color that is very connected to our learning in grade four.  Ask your child how.

Creative movement begins next week Nov 26- Dec 13  - Room 4A will be going from 11:50-12:20
